Hootsuite -Schedule posts and monitor multiple social networks from one dashboard. Hootsuite is still best in class for managing all accounts in one place. SproutSocial -I prefer Hootsuite’s dashboard but SproutSocial is still a keeper for awesome reports and archiving important posts.

Once you’ve got your password you’ll need to update all of the passwords in your trusted 3rd party apps like Buffer, SproutSocial, Hootsuite, etc. Use a tool like Hootsuite or SproutSocial and give access through that if an admin or assistant needs access to post. Start by requesting a password reset.

Schedule it in Sprout Social or Hootsuite and you’re done. These are easily scheduled in a content calendar and that allows you to see the story you are weaving over a period of time and also step back and see where there are opportunities to create more information or to curate relevant content from other sources. All good right?

When an application like Hootsuite, Tweetdeck or a mobile Twitter app like Tweetbot checks your account on Twitter, it’s what is called an “API Call” This does NOT include the number of messages you send through these tools, only the number of times the tool hits the Twitter server to check for more. So who cares?

Hootsuite works well for this too. Tweetdeck , Seesmic or Hootsuite. No, not sending auto DM’s (send me one and you’re Ota here), but automating day to day tasks. I use Objective Marketer extensively for clients to automate posts related to contests, speaking engagements, book signings, event announcements etc.

Hootsuite allows you to manage your social media profiles and get back some good data to boot. Then decide if more time is warranted. You’ll see what networks work for you and which don’t. Get rid of the ones that don’t or re-assess why it’s not working. Get some good tools.

You can also follow a hashtag in your Twitter client like Tweetdeck or Hootsuite. Fortunately there are a number of sites that allow you to follow the chat only and participate more easily. Tweetchat.com. Twitterfall.com. TweetGrid.com. These apps range in difficulty and also in update speed.
