WhatsApp Adds Ability to Tag Users in Group Chats

WhatsApp added the ability for users to tag other users in group chats.

WhatsApp added the ability for users to tag other users in group chats, according to a report from The Next Web.

With this update, a user can tag another user in a group chat by typing the “@” symbol, typing their name and then tapping the right contact on a bar that appears. A user can tag multiple users in a single message.

When users tag other users in group chats, the tagged users will receive notifications, even if they’ve muted the conversations.

Finally, The Next Web reported that users can tag other users even if they’re not in their address books, so long as they are part of the same group chat.
