Facebook had added a new 'Recommendations' panel to Groups, which collects a listing of all the Pages and businesses that group members recommend, and could help facilitate sharing and discovery within trusted communities.
Spotted by social media expert Matt Navarra, when accessed, the new option brings up a listing of all the Pages and businesses recommended by members of that group.
Given that users are more likely to trust the opinions of those they interact with, it makes sense for Facebook to add this as a discovery element, while it could also provide a new consideration for marketers, prompting them to get involved in more groups related to their industry in order to showcase their expertize - and ideally, get their own business on the same listings.
Definitely, if there are groups you regularly interact within, you're more likely to trust the collective recommendations of those members. It's not a massive update, but a relevant one, with implications for business discovery - especially considering that more than a billion Facebook users (and growing) actively engage within groups.
