Once Google took it over it just wasn’t reliable. So we moved some client sites to Feedblitz , others decided to use WordPress’s free built in RSS feed tool. Now, this blog is syndicated on several sites and I send the RSS feed to Triberr and quite a few other places and they seemed to be getting the feed, so what gives?

In February Google rolled out an update to their algorithms likely directed at sites that duplicate content for article marketing as well as those that “spin&# articles (replacing phrases and words so they aren’t exact duplicates and then posting to article hosting sites). Check your site against Google’s quality guidelines.

I heard this on Sunday and so just for fun I filtered every one of the newsletters and rss feeds that I never even bother to scan into a mailbox. I went into my Google reader and deleted every blog that hadn’t posted within the last 30 days. It took me about 15 minutes to unsubscribe from them all.

I follow almost 4,000 people on Twitter , over 1500 on Linkedin , and more on Facebook , Google+ , blogs , forums, a zillion social networks, wikis and more. I get around 800 emails a day (half of them are alerts, newsletters and feed reports for my clients). There are lots of task that can be handed to a virtual admin.
