Besides Google Android, the tablet king Apple iPad is about to get a taut rival in Windows 8. Microsoft has already previewed its ARM compatible Windows 8 and a dedicated app store called the Windows Store for it. As per reports, Microsoft has tied up with a number of OEMs including the Asian giants like Asus, Huawei, ZTE and Acer.

Windows Phone 8 has the backing of Microsoft. Who may not be quite the titan they once were, thanks to Google and Apple finally making a chink in that monopolistic armor. Microsoft is still the fourth most valuable company. What’s impressive about Microsoft is that they know from OS’. Their Windows Phone 8 is unique.

In the old days it was Microsoft Explorer or the highway. Your default browser on your Android device is most likely Google Chrome. But I do have a sneaking suspicion that it is Google’s mobile version of Chrome because after all, what other browser would Google place in their own OS?

It must be difficult for Microsoft. People were worried that Microsoft would be the evil monopolistic empire that they probably still aspire to be. But Windows Phone 8 still has a thing or two to teach to those young whippersnappers over at Apple and Google. Podcasts!

The article makes a terrific point in that people feel more secure saving their most cherished data with a company like Dropbox that isn’t as pervasive as behemoths Google, Microsoft or Apple. It’s a cogent statement, acknowledging the massive success achieved by this SF Bay area digital titan of file storage.
