Google tried, but has yet to provide a competitor with Google+, Timberlake couldn’t bring the sexy back to Myspace, Instagram is owned by Zuck, and Snapchat; well they have their own issues. The answer is No. ROI is not a unicorn, proving value for social activity is necessary and not something that is open to interpretation.

Four social applications worth keeping an eye on

For every “surefire hit” like a Pinterest there are two or three Google Waves or Empire Avenues. This is the one on the list that I am hoping the most for because it could really add real-time feedback on shows to help a viewer decide if they are missing out on some jokes on a show or if the show is just not funny.

Why I’m kinda over Yelp: Foursquare and Twitter are my recommendation engines of choice

Yelp, like that ex of yours, is a great resource for information on local businesses, showing restaurants’ hours and menu offerings, publishing user reviews of everything from beauty salons to churches, and listing great local events around Boston. and even then it’s usually only a Google search that leads me to visit Yelp.
