Appetas announced today they were acquired by Google. Clearly they had a successful product to have been acquired by Google, and I’m sure there is a place for this sort of product in the market. Great for them, not so much for their customers.

Instead, use a tool like Google Reader and subscribe to job listings where applicable. Create a job folder in your Google Reader, and add RSS subscriptions from Craigslist on searches relative to your job hunt. As a side note, it goes without saying to make sure your LinkedIn Profile is up to date and updated frequently to stay fresh.

Synchs with Google Reader which is a major plus and easy to share articles to your networks. Pulse (free) – I really love the UI for this newsreader. It just seems like a great use of the tablet form factor as I find myself consuming much more content with their approach.
