For a few years I compared what was happening in Second Life with what was happening with “my” 3D gamemaking software. Another friend, Dinnertube , started posting videos on Youtube in 2006. I may have opened a MySpace account when it was still the talk of the digital town. Foursquare? I am ready to do the Tumblr thing.

Most didn’t have links to their own blogs and the ones that did only referenced their MySpace pages. Most of you know how I feel about MySpace. The concept is great but MySpace dropped the ball when it came to keeping the freaks and spammers in check. It’s garbage. Use get_bookmarks() instead.

YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world, and yet video content continues to be under-leveraged. Now, I’m not suggesting Foursquare will ever approach Twitter’s level of ubiquity, much less Facebook’s. Because Foursquare makes very little sense unless you’re in a physical location like a store, restaurant, etc. At least it is for me.
