Bloggers who are compensated can use the “nofollow&# tag within their outbound links to keep those links from being tagged by Google as paid content. The nofollow may well make that harder, but then again, if you are under contract I think it’s the buyer’s responsibility to track the postings of the paid blogger.

And yes, you need a mixture of both Dofollow and Nofollow links, because that’s what natural link building looks like. How do you know whether a blog is Do or Nofollow? If you see that a certain site is sending a lot of RSS subscribers, you can work to get more traffic from that source. You can see how many people are subscribing to your RSS feed and from which sources, and if you use the new Google Analytics integration, you can see how many clicks each individual post is getting from feed readers.

RSS Footer does what the name implies. At the bottom of every blog post that is syndicated by RSS , a line of code is inserted indicating it was sourced right here. This is not entirely true, for what really needs to occur is the “nofollow&# attribute that WordPress adds to comment links must be turned off.

I thought Google had added a nofollow algorithm for article directories and that it wouldn’t count those links because the idea is to get your links from publishers who use your articles rather than to rely on links from the directories. I remember the days when traffic from the service would only have a 30% bounce rate, and while it’s around 80% now, a percentage of visitors still leave comments and sign-up to your RSS feed which is what most people want them to do. Maybe you need to make your RSS more clear (like I mentioned on our coaching call) in the left sidebar.
