Klout is an online influence gauge that combines several data points (followers, retweets, clicks on links, etc.) The data used to calculate Klout continues to change (they added Facebook information recently), but I have found it to be the most reliable influence tracking metric. PostRank Analytics solves this problem.

Except, he has very little influence over that fan base. Now, you might desire a list like his and it certainly has brand potential, but you could generate more influence with a much smaller number of followers. However, this only highlights the need to find and engage both influencers and brand advocates.

measurePR really took off ( the next chat’s on January 4 , btw, with Justin Goldsborough , where we’ll be talking influence). Thanks to Skype, I kept my phone bill down, and was able to talk regularly not just with my family but with friends all around the world as well. I traveled a lot. And loved it. Read All About It!

Second: if Keys et al wield the kind of online influence they apparently think they do, why on earth didn’t the campaign become an overnight phenomenon? Which brings me back to what this is all about, and what public relations, in its truest sense, tries to do: influence. And a lot of us are fatigued right now.
