Recently, Facebook has launched Messenger Rooms- a video chat app that works similar to other video calling apps. This is the brand new way to connect with your community. Yes, the Messenger Rooms are like a virtual conference room that you can set up and invite contacts to join a call. You do not have to make any pre-plans or find time in the calendar. You can anytime use this video calling addition in a flash.

Facebook’s Messenger Rooms- What Is It?

Facebook’s Messenger Rooms is a video chat room that allows you up to 50 participants to join a virtual hangout with no time limit. Messenger Rooms makes it easy to spend quality time, chit-chat and connect with your friends at long distance. You can create a room here right from your Facebook Messenger app or Facebook account and then invite anyone to join the video call. Even the people with no Facebook account can also join the room and get connected. Also, there is no time limit like Zoom or other video calling apps.

You can use this amazing and new Facebook feature to host celebrations, gather a book club or just hang out for some gossip with your bunch of buddies. As said above, you do not have to schedule your calls or make pre-plans for creating these Messenger Rooms, you can directly start and share rooms on Facebook through News Feed, Groups and Events. We are expecting Facebook to add ways to create rooms from Instagram Direct, WhatsApp too.

During this pandemic, soon after the popularity of video conferencing apps like Zoom, Houseparty, Skype, Microsoft Teams etc., Messenger Rooms is Facebook’s latest take on instant video calling. While you set up a call through Messenger Rooms, a notification will pop up on your friends and followers feed, with an option to Join. How To Use Facebook’s Messenger Rooms?

The Facebook Messenger Rooms are recently being rolled out and therefore, no such finite details of setting up calls are still in works. As per the sources, Messenger Rooms have started being rolled out in some parts of the world and soon will be expanded in the other parts of the world too. Zuckerberg explained that Messenger Rooms can later be connected to your Facebook events, and will let you make a group hangout just in a click.

Once the Facebook Messenger Rooms are available, you can follow these steps to create a Room from your phone:

• Open the Messenger app
• Tap the People tab at the bottom of the screen.
• Now tap Create a Room, and select the participants.
• To share a Room with the people with no Facebook accounts can share the link with them. Also, you can share the room in your News Feed, Groups, and Events.

You can use any device be it a phone or a PC to join a room. It features 14 camera filters and changeable backgrounds. You can use them while being on call to have some fun-loving sessions.

What Else Can You Do With Facebook Messenger Rooms?

Facebook’s Messenger Rooms are currently available in some parts of the world and since we know that during this outbreak, everyone is inside homes. The best way to use this amazing feature by Facebook is to set up a virtual date in Facebook Dating. You can invite the person to a virtual date and try getting to know each other. Although, the feature will be rolled out in a few months so you might have to wait.
