All the major social media platforms came out with at least one update.

Google+ Makes Changes

Google+ has started rolling out some changes and will continue doing so over the next few months. Great for those who use Google+ daily, and even for those who DON’T have a profile.

Google+ Becomes More Focused:  In keeping with the trend that people on Google+ engage around mutual interest, Google continues to add new features, such as Google+ Collections that allows you to organize your posts according to topics of interest.

Use Google+ Without a Profile:  In the next few months, you’ll be able to access all your Google accounts from a single account without your Google+ account being your identity on the other Google products you use.

Linkedin Launches New Campaign Management Tool for Sponsored Updates and Text Ads:  Linkedin’s new Campaign Manager offers a range of new features to help you meet your advertising goals while improving control and visibility. New features include campaign search, better search and dynamic visual reporting, detailed breakdown on social actions related to your Sponsored Updates, audience insights, the ability to post rich media, and an account overview page.

Twitter

New Twitter Ads Companion:  Manage Twitter ads on the go with the new Twitter Ads Companion mobile tool. It allows you to optimize your schedule and budget, check campaign performance and respond to your notifications anywhere, any time.

Twitter Removes Background Wallpaper From User Home Pages: Twitter recently made background images from Home and Notifications timelines available only to logged-in users to present a cleaner, more unified look to new users. However, background wallpapers might be removed completely, so don’t call your designer just yet…

Facebook New Tools for Video Publishing

Facebook native video is now huge and Facebook is making it easier to help video publishers grow their business on Facebook via video. There are two new updates that give publishers more control over how their videos are organized and shared.

This means that you don’t have to use YouTube to “house” your videos anymore, you can “house” them directly on Facebook and obtain a URL for each video.

Facebook Announces New Video Publishing Tools:

Facebook’s new Secret Videos for Publishers are accessible via direct URLs, and are great for publishers looking to embed videos on third-party sites without posting them publicly on Facebook.

Facebook Introduces Video Upload Enhancements + a New Video Library: A redesigned upload process and new distribution options give publishers added control over what they share on Facebook and third party sites and how their content is organized.

Facebook Updates News Feed Controls for Personal Profiles:  New News Feed controls help you to improve and manage your News Feed with the following functions:

  • Prioritise friends & pages you want to see first.
  • Find new Pages to connect to.
  • Select which Pages or friends you wish to follow or unfollow.

Sneak Peak Into YouTube’s 10 Upcoming Features: YouTube will be rolling out some features starting in the next few weeks and throughout the rest of the year, including –
