Because I use Twitter as a way to meet and connect with new people, why not follow a lot of people? It was very hard for me to engage with anyone since my feed was full of people I didn’t know. I unfollow if they send spam or inappropriate DMs or if they promote their own content too much in the stream.

Over on my city council blog , for instance, I published a post on February 23 with the meeting agenda for February 28 — and, because I subscribe to my own blogs, I blinked when that post was received on March 5. Social sharing can also be customized and embedded inside the emails and RSS feeds. Unacceptable.

I do my best to have both breakfast and lunch meetings booked with either business prospects or business people I would like to connect with.
