Social-Media-Updates-For-Your-BusinessAnd so November has drawn to a close and we’re slap-bang in the holiday season. Before everyone winds down for the holidays, let’s pause for a minute to catch up on November’s social media updates, which were significant.

Facebook

Facebook rolled out quite a few exciting updates in the last month, mainly with the aim of making marketing easier for local business owners.

Facebook Introduces Local Awareness Ads: Local awareness ads makes it easier and more affordable for businesses to find new customers by targeting people nearby with ads. These ads offer precise targeting and a greater reach.

What’s great about local awareness ads, is that they help Facebook users to find more useful products or services nearby, and it helps businesses to reach out to this market.

Two New Tools to Enhance Local Marketing: Taking it a step up with Local Awareness Ads, Facebook has added two new tools for local businesses, and now allows companies with multiple locations to create ads for each location, while at the same time gaining more insight into the people nearby the stores. This new update will give you the data that really matters about your audience. This is very important. This is going to help with even better targeting of audience, instead of targeting a city with radius of 10 miles, or dropping pins or putting in multiple town names with no radius.
What’s awesome about this, is that Facebook makes it easier for people who run local businesses to figure out whether your ads are reaching people near your store. You can see the percentages of people nearby who have seen your ads, and eventually, you can draw links between different aspects of your insights to better create the outcomes that matter.

Facebook Slideshow: This amazing new update allows you to tell your brand’s story with easy-to-create, lightweight videos. Interactive content is gaining popularity on Facebook, and these new slideshows are lightweight and accessible to people in most countries, even in high-growth markets. Designed using photos, Facebook slideshows are fast and easy to create, but it delivers the full effectiveness and impact of a video.

Google+

New Version of Google+:  Have you noticed changes with your Google+ page? The new Google+ puts Collections and Communities in focus, making Google+ simpler and more mobile friendly.

The updates are great in terms of enhancing usability of the site in a more user-friendly way.

Twitter

Twitter & Vine Replace Stars With Hearts: Periscope and Instagram have been using hearts forever, and Twitter and Vine followed suit. This cute update makes hearts the common language of like in the global community.

Pinterest

Pinterest Launches Visual Search: Since a picture says a thousand words, you may be at a loss for words when you try to find the things you love. Pinterest understands that, which is why they launched a new visual search tool that lets you find things you like, even if you don’t know what it’s called. Now, when you spot something you like in a pin and you want to learn more about it, simply tap on the search tool, select the part of the pin you want to learn more about, and the engine will show you more pins just like that. How awesome is that? It adds a whole new layer of marketing possibilities to your Pinterest efforts.

Skype

Skype Adds a Share Button: Skype has just become an even richer experience. You can now use the share button to share content and immediately engage in conversations about it. This new development is great for people who collaborate on projects and wish to share content and ideas instantly via Skype before adding their own comments and instructions and conversing on the topic.
