If you don’t grasp the significance of the URL, hzg is a shortened version of my last name and bz resembles business. Similar to the New York Times’ use of [link] Flickr’s [link] and YouTube’s [link] there is a practicality, if not memorability as well, to having a custom short URL. as a Short URL at AriWriter.

Just before the end of last year, my email box was inundated by newsletters filled with articles & posts like “The Top 50 Facebook Posts of 2010” and “Top 20 Most Useful Twitter Blog Posts of 2010.” They all seemed to be obsessed with ‘pimping out’ their Facebook and/or Twitter page. The URL is missing? I thought wrong.

Scrolling through my LinkedIn news feed (similar to Facebook’s, showing what my connections are liking, commenting, sharing, and updating), I recognized a while ago that I didn’t know a lot of names. On Facebook: Unfollow your noisy friends. I removed a lot of text, edited the rest, and kept the same URL.

It’s seen two URLs, multiple names, and numerous iterations. I continue to tweet and update stuff on my new Facebook community , and I’ve recently dabbled with newer media tools such as Pinterest and Fuzz. You can expect to win free prizes by liking and commenting in the Facebook community. You can expect wonderful things.

With user-friendly icons on the bottom of the corporate website, their catchy-phrased blog , Facebook page , Twitter page @TheBestWestern , and YouTube channel are interactive and engaging. The Four Seasons arrives in second place for me, because of small-font Twitter and Facebook text and icons near the bottom. Have a look.
