We did a little research on social media activity regarding the earthquake using Radian6. Some interesting stats: Prior to the earthquake, there were approximately 100-300 mentions of earthquakes on social networks per hour. There were over 31,000 mentions of earthquakes between 1 and 2pm today.

Santa also has a Facebook page , with a reasonable number of fans (nearly 17,000). Get in touch with Facebook and contest it. Given that the kids, we hear, aren’t even sending email now, Santa should consider creating an application that enables people to submit their Christmas lists via Facebook. Kid gets notification.
