If you’ve ever heard me talk about social media do’s and don’ts, particularly the don’ts, you’ll know my number one piece of advice is not to set up your business on the Facebook Personal Profile platform. Facebook Personal Profile posts are not indexed by the search engines, for obvious privacy reasons.

Back in the day, there use to be this nice little free text information box under your profile picture. This was a great place to put the URL to your Facebook Business Page so that all of your personal friends could see the link and potentially click on it when they were engaging with your personal profile. But, not all is lost.

On your blog you should put links to your Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc. Here on the Handyman Matters Blog they have a prominent link to their Twitter account at the top and a Facebook Like Box to the side. Notice they even use the Facebook “Like&# button allowing you to “Like&# each of their posts.
