4 Examples of Great Social Media Content and What You Can Learn From Them

If one thing is guaranteed when it comes to social media, it’s that content on the feed will never be in short supply. In just one day, users will scroll through 300 feet of content on social media – that’s enough content to span the height of the Statue of Liberty. With the perpetual appetite for fresh, exciting content you may be looking for inspiration for your next editorial planning session. To jumpstart your creativity, here are four social media examples of great content and what you can learn from them.

1. Frozen II Max Width Video Pin

This is a great example from Disney of utilizing a mobile-first ad unit on Pinterest in a disruptive way. As you can see, the asset is a max width video ad, but it was produced to initially appear is if it were two separate pins. This clever tactic makes users pause their endless scrolling for a moment and spend a little more time with your content.

2. Casper Instagram Ad Copy

This ad caught our eye, not necessarily because of the visual itself though. Rather, we were drawn to the cheeky copy. Ever have a moment when you’re scrolling through your feed and you’re served an ad for something you were discussing out loud not too long ago? Of course you have. Casper taps into this shared experience to bring users a little humor while enticing them to purchase. A cute dog in the image doesn’t hurt either.

3. Ulta Beauty Instagram Story Engagement Prompt

As more and more brands have adopted Instagram Stories, we’ve seen some exceptionally creative content examples stem from this channel. The above example from Ulta Beauty is just one of them. To encourage users to complete the full Story, the brand incorporated a call-to-action for users to tap the screen to discover product deals. As users tap, the balloons float away to reveal the deals.
