2018 is here!
Some thoughts from me…

No one can deny 2017 was a challenging year. Whew!

Trump’s first year in office, the massive natural disasters of hurricanes and wild fires, and the #metoo wave of brave women speaking out on sexual harassment and assault from men in high powered positions…to name just the top few.

And I ask myself how I can really make a difference this year?

I feel it starts at grass roots. Right here. It starts with me.

If I nurture an attitude of love, patience, understanding, non-judgement, and generosity, that attitude will radiate and impact all I encounter and work with every moment of every day.  My family, friends, clients, community, and even strangers.

So this is where I start. And that is where I KNOW I can make a difference.

In that vein, I wanted to help organizations close to home. I wanted to make some kind of impact here.

I decided to help Tackle Kids Cancer, a pediatric cancer program here at Hackensack University Medical Center. They raise funds for critical research and awareness to support the fight against kids’ cancer. I personally know two kids from my daughter’s school that are being treated there and are now in transmission through this program. It’s close to home. Amazing!

And the local American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in their mission to put a stop to inhumane animal cruelty, abuse and neglect, which is becoming more and more prevalent and pervasive. It’s close to my heart. It’s close to home.

I have become involved in Women of Action New Jersey, formed after Trump’s election by an amazing group of local women whose goals are to educate, empower and engage the women here in Fair Lawn, and neighboring towns, to effect change not only on a national level, but a state and local level. It’s close to home.

In my daily attitude, actions and outreach, I feel I am – and can – make a difference. Close to home.

So don’t go B&W. Make it a year full of COLOR and VIBRANCE. Make a difference. Speak up for yourself and others.

I wish you a year of inner happiness, fulfillment, development, and growth…both personal and professional.

I hope 2018 is special year for all of us!

Best,
