Insight strikes at all hours of the day. For me, it can be early in the morning or when I’m sipping coffee in the afternoon. These books deserve a place in your living room where they are easy to grab and flip through at any time.
1. Stuff You Should Know: An Incomplete Compendium of Mostly Interesting Things
I was so impressed with the varied topics and deep detailed knowledge on display with this book, based on one of my all-time favorite podcasts.
2. Arctic
A picture is worth a thousand words, but in this book it is all about wolves. A nice bonus? Every purchase means the publisher plants a tree for you.
3. The 10 Greatest Conspiracies of All Time: Decoding History's Unsolved Mysteries
One of my favorite authors is back with a quirky book about conspiracies, mostly explained through artifacts, photos, and illustrations.
4. Virtual Cities: An Atlas & Exploration of Video Game Cities
What an incredible account of the cities in video games throughout the last few years, including one of my favorite games called Half-Life 2 and the Fallout series.
5. The Encyclopedia of New York
What I like about this tome is that the writing is funny and creative. I don’t even live in New York but I appreciated all of the detailed summaries of people, places, and things.
