On a recent trip to Barcelona, I was hit in the face with a language barrier and was unable to communicate. This made me do some soul searching at how I communicate with people.
So to you I ask how effective are you communicating?

Considering I effectively converted travelers checks to foreign currency — Italian lira and Chinese yen, respectively — at two different banks with two different tellers in two different countries, with me not knowing their language and they not knowing mine, it’s hard for me to comprehend language barriers. If nothing else, use sign language for numbers and draw pictures for words.

@danperezfilms Nah the sun moved while filming and the shadows sucked but it was getting close to check out time. I need to travel with a filmmaker, know anyone?

@Ari Herzog Well aren’t you special? Take a step back and look at your interactions in the US or on the social outlets in which you communicate Ari. A look at your blog on Facebook blocking you from freinding people shows that you still face barriers in your native tongue.

@jeffespo Language had nothing to do with that Facebook block. Rather, the system was automated so it assumed my actions were spammy when in fact they were not.

@Ari Herzog it is not an automated thing, but rather people marking you as spam. At the end of the day it is all about communicating better. To be honest with you if you were a Boston politician and sent me a request in the manner you did, I would mark you as spam too. Mostly because it is a communications preference of asking to opt-in rather than being asked if I would be interested in opting in.
