Amplify Festival Main

I am pleased to announce that I will be speaking at this year’s Amplify Festival (@AmplifyFest) in Australia, which is set to take place June 1–5. This TED-like event, now in its 10th year, is open to all employees, partners and clients, as well as the public, and with the goal of fostering great conversation and exciting ideas. Rather than presenting itself as a sales or marketing event, the Amplify Festival (or AMP for short) bills itself as a shared learning event—a massive hub of innovators from all around the world—and all ends of the professional spectrum.

AMP was first founded by Annalie Killian (@maverickwoman), who continues to grow the event as a Catalyst for Magic and producer of AMP’s Festival of innovation in business, leadership and technology. The festival has established itself as a fantastic forum in Australia—and I am beyond thrilled to both share and learn new ideas on how employees, leaders and stakeholders can build a brand from the inside out by empowering their employees to understand and innovate more purposefully around what customers need—not only today but in the future.

To celebrate my upcoming participation at AMP, I was recently interviewed by Joanne Gray (@JoGrayBoss) for AFR Boss (@AFRBoss). In the interview, we focused on a few of the concepts in my best-selling book, The Social Employee (McGraw-Hill, 2013), co-written with my partner and Blue Focus Marketing cofounder, Mark Burgess (@MNBurgess). This was quite an honor, as AFR Boss boasts a very impressive readership—reaching 38 percent of C-Suite executives, 44 percent of chairman/chief executives, 39 percent of chief financial officers, 31 percent of directors/vice presidents/general managers and 19 percent of owner/partners. With so much of our social employee advocacy focused the importance of social leadership, this is precisely the kind of audience we need to keep the social employee revolution moving forward!

You can read the full interview here. The article is behind a subscription paywall, but as Australia’s “premier magazine for business leaders and high-achievers,” the wealth of great content and thought leadership offered through AFR Boss should make signing up well worth the cost.

Thanks again to everyone at AMP Fest for the chance to spread our message to new continents—and to Joanne Gray and everyone at AFR Boss for the great interview. June can’t come soon enough!
