There are a variety of tools available for the iPhone and iPad plus I can access from any computer with a browser. Not only does this serve as a backup of those files, it also allows me to access from my iPhone, iPad, or any other computer. Mozy: Mozy allows me to sleep at night knowing that all of my data is being backed up.

After a few days of messing around with it, the iPad reminds me very much of that remote control with a cord. Most of the chatter leading up to the iPad’s release was around how would it perform against standard computing tasks. I use my iPad instead of my iPhone, not instead of my MacBook. Same with email.

After Google Voice and its third-party apps were turned down by Apple due to “it duplicating features that the iPhone comes with (Dialer, SMS, etc),&# Google built a completely browser-based app , avoiding the restrictions and not having to split the profits. We are currently evaluating the program to see how it will work in the upcoming school year. There are several middle/high schools I can think of that are requiring Twitter accounts for 9th graders, iPads for 6th graders, and blogs and wikis for collaborative learning.
