Contribute to article directories. Article directories are still good sources of targeted traffic, mainly because of their authority in a lot of topics. Blog RSS feeds. Many people prefer to receive content only when they want to. RSS feeds provide them with fresh content without having them to give away their information.

Just as low-level article directories (ezinearticles, articlesbase, and others) got hurt by Google’s Panda Update in 2013, I predict that Google will hurt sites abusing guest blogging in 2013. No, you don’t have to put Nofollow tags on every outbound link; Google does not want that. Automatically make all outbound links NoFollow links.

Directory Submissions By nature, directory links are of a very poor quality. Sometimes I’ll also pay $100 or so to BOTW.org which is a human-filtered directory which can give me some great link juice. As soon as I’m cached in this directory I find my rankings to increase almost instantly. This is gold.
