Google slapped the article directories hard, so hard that you might not want to keep putting your articles there. Try HubPages, Google Knol, and Squidoo Lenses. They may work and they may not. But there is actually a better way to go about marketing your business and your website these days.

What if you don’t own a blog, but you do write on sites such as HubPages, Squidoo, Bukisa, EzineArticles, GoArticles, or similar article networks and directories. Contribute to article directories. Article directories are still good sources of targeted traffic, mainly because of their authority in a lot of topics. Medium and HubPages are just two examples of social sites that allow everyone to publish their own content and knowledge. Blog RSS feeds. Podcast feed. Social media.

Just because I manage to get 500 visitors a day from an article I submitted to article directories doesn’t mean you can get that much traffic doing the same thing. Submit your blog to directories relevant to your niche, like InsLink.com (an SEO/webmaster directory). Create a hub about your blog on HubPages.
