And judging by the SEOMOz toolbar’s ‘NoFollow’ indicator, the Facebook comments are followed links back to Facebook everytime. Look at the difference between similar sites in terms of technology e.g. Digg vs Reddit vs Hacker News, for example. Not reward Facebook for doing nothing.

Links can do this regardless of whether or not they contain the “nofollow” attribute, contain redirects, come from a site with a high PageRank , and so on. Use Postrank to Find Engaging Posts When I wrote a post about the 28 items in my internet marketing toolbox, I covered a nifty little service called Postrank Analytics which lets you see your most shared blog posts on sites like Digg, Delicious and Twitter. I use Google Alerts but, more so to keep up with specific news, than post ideas.

Leave Blog Comments Most blog comments are nofollowed (this means search engines aren’t supposed to give weight to the link, though I believe Yahoo and Bing still do) so they don’t provide much link juice directly. There are only three main resources that I use, and here they are: Sphinn – If you’re familiar with Digg, then think of Sphinn as Digg for internet marketers.
