At Facebook’s annual F8 developer conference this year, with announcements from robots, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and more I finally feel as though I’m in the future. Only social is social and Facebook just opened that (using “open” very loosely) to the entire web. You can’t share via RSS.

It doesn’t rely on free search traffic from Google. It doesn’t require paid advertising campaigns via Facebook or Adwords. At the time, bloggers were reliant on RSS subscribers more than ever and many of them used Feedburner to track how many people subscribed to their feed. There’s no coincidence here.
