We’ve teamed up with Sony Electronics USA and a group of top-tiered daddy bloggers as a different form of blogger outreach. How about a group of daddy bloggers that use products like digital cameras, camcorders, and laptops to capture memorable moments with their kids all the time? Sounds perfect to me and sounded fun to Sony.

Think that would cause a group of people to gather ’round the vending machine? Shortly after I posted this, a conversation started on Twitter between myself and a couple others. Within minutes Coke had jumped into the conversation. Possibly the computer on the fritz but kinda cool, huh? Of course it would.

That global conversation is an extremely powerful platform for spreading information and awareness about social causes and issues. Recently, a group of green bloggers banded together to raise individual $1 donations from their readers.

But, what we don’t usually get to learn about is how these groups organize their social media efforts. We have seen plenty of examples of how government and politics (sometimes one of the same) are using social media. We have even seen how some branches of the military, such as the Air Force , are using social media.
