The first no-comment post (on naming your blog ) saw 8 shares on Twitter, 1 share on Facebook, and 2 shares on LinkedIn. The second no-comment post (on what you do ) saw 8 shares on Twitter, 2 shares on Facebook, and 4 shares on LinkedIn. The third no-comment post (on Facebook lists ) saw similar numbers. I don’t know.

You were prevented from this sort of social conversational integration with the built-in WordPress commenting system that this blog employed since 2008. I also use lists on Facebook where everyone is on one. I maintain about a dozen lists on Twitter (and follow others’ lists) and I maintain about a dozen lists on Facebook. My global list on Facebook I peruse weekly to see what friends in Australia and England are up to. I’m conversing on Snapchat.

The main advantage that third-party comments have over native comments is the ability to combine your other social networks into the conversation, as opposed to just the readers of the blog post.
