So many companies have good intentions and launch, but never back it up with real people and responses.

Conversations need to be allowed to evolve, openness and transparency is expected. I’ve seen it happen numerous times and it’s not even worth the effort. While it’s certainly expected to have some standards in place, your social media channels cannot be treated like press releases and broadcast media.

I can’t imagine that the click through rates to links in Twitter auto DMs are that high, let alone conversion rates, but it would certainly be interesting to see. I haven’t found any studies on the subject, but Mashable posted some interesting finds on overall click through rates for Tweeting as a whole here.
