Social Media Content Creation Guide 2022 to Increase Your Sales

You started a strategy that took a couple of weeks to prepare. And then you realize too late that creating social media content that sells for your social media channels is a lot harder than it looks.

SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT CREATION GUIDE IN 2021

Of course it is! There are lots of aspects you have to keep in mind in terms of your audience, what you’re selling, how you should sell it and what platform you’re using.

One of the biggest reasons that companies turn to social media content creation companies is so that they don't have to worry about whether they're providing the data, information, education, creativity and inspiration that their followers are looking for in their social media feed each day.

The average consumer is more informed than they were twenty years ago. And we have the internet (and social media!) to blame.

Information is powerful, but with a little information comes a need for more. A lot more.

In our current digital age, social media plays an important role in keeping people informed about the world around them. Even government officials are making important announcements about the current Pandemic over social media, while grocery stores, shopping malls, restaurants and more use social media to keep their customers informed about store hour changes and new products and services.

Social media grants us a certain kind of power. One that can drive sales and engagement if you play your cards well.

If you’ve had trouble getting off the ground with your content marketing on social, we’re going to make it easy for you to craft social media content that sells, right from your living room couch.

Are you ready to get started? Let’s dive in.

logo-2 What Is Social Media Content Creation?

Social media content creation is arguably one of the most important aspects of a social media marketing campaign. Social media content creation is an art, and one that requires an extra amount of patience, creativity, and education around graphic design, copy creation, and color composition.

The Six Best Kept Secrets From Our Very Own Content Creation Company

Being in the social media business gives me and my team the opportunity to work with many different types of clients and audiences across the globe. This experience has taught us some incredibly useful information when it comes to social content creation, which I’m going to share with you today in an effort to help you get off the ground.

A quick preface for these tricks, though.

Following these to the letter, though it can be beneficial, isn’t the ultimate answer. What you need is to learn to be flexible and open to things working differently in your industry.

I can’t promise you a perfect answer, (though I wish I could) nor the perfect overnight solution to all of your social content creation woes. However, what I can do is point you in the right direction with some of the tricks my team uses on a daily basis to bring in engagement, grow our clients following and pave a way to greater success on social media.

But enough chattering, let’s dig in.

#1 Create an Informative and Relevant Atmosphere

Your audience will come to you in hopes that you can help them overcome obstacles or fill needs. And they’ll probably wander over to your profile because something you said or did caught their interest.

Catching their interest and portraying your message long before they visit your profile is what you’re shooting for when you craft content that sells. You want to stay relevant and informative, and cultivate that atmosphere across your chosen social media platforms.

The key is to use things going on outside your industry as well as your industry so that you can become a trusted partner to your audience. Someone who will keep them informed and on top to ensure their success.

However, this does not mean share the evening news report. Because relevancy is also key. Remember, news channels exist on social media, too. No, the secret is providing industry relevant information that your audience can rely on, spoken in terms and words that everyone can understand to cultivate trust.

#2 Give Clear Directions

Imagine this: It’s a typical work day and you’ve been busy wrapping up a project that you’ve been working on for a month. The client calls you at the last minute and tells you they want to change the whole thing. That it doesn’t fit into their brand appearance.

But instead of giving you any direction for what needs to change or how it doesn’t fit their brand personality, they hang up and stop responding to texts.

In a similar scenario, you fly to another country to meet your friend and he gets upset with you, telling you he’s been waiting on you for hours, but you don’t know where to meet him and he won’t communicate with you.

Frustrating? Absolutely. But maybe you’re not aware that this whole time, you’ve been doing this exact thing to your audience. Maybe not quite as blatantly, it’s true.

However, if you don’t clearly guide your customers to the next step, they can often feel lost, frustrated or unsure of how to proceed.

CTAs are very, very important and a vital part of good social media content creation and a content strategy.

Successful social media content creation must always include carefully crafted CTAs. Why? Because they’re an essential tool. And one that is greatly underutilized and underappreciated for many different types of content.

A well crafted CTA will lead to less friction in the buying process, which makes for more leads, more engagement and more sales!

#3 Just Say “No” To Industry Jargon

It’s important when you’re crafting creative social content that sells not to gravitate towards your particular industry’s jargon. And in some cases, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

However, by using plain language, relevant information and well-timed CTAs, you can receive much better results from the same amount of effort when it comes to your social media strategy.

Industry jargon has a reputation for making businesses seem unapproachable. You want everyone to be able to easily understand your offer, how it can help them and avoid terms and information that can breed distrust.

Unfamiliar things, (even words!) can be scary for buyers and audiences everywhere, so stick to plain language and let the resulting data prove you’re on the right track.

#4 Selling? No. Storytelling? Yes.

Instead of coming out of the gate swinging (it’s not a good look), focus on trying to tell a story when you market your products. Consumers don’t want to be told what to do. Instead, they want to be pleasantly surprised to find out that you have exactly what they need to fill their need.

There are two difficulties that immediately arise when you dip your toes into social media content creation. One being that sometimes, the best concepts won’t come out as pretty on paper. And two, just because it’s working for other brands, doesn’t mean it’s automatically a good fit for yours.

This is huge when it comes to trying to illustrate who you are and how your services and products can help your customers. If you want to create social media content that sells, you’ve got to put your all into it and do the research. Tell your story in a captivating way and then let your reviews and reputation proceed you and win the hearts of your target audience.

HELPFUL HINT: Staying true to who you are as a brand and being consistent is a great way to build trust with your audience.

#5 Provide Data Sources

If you’re going to make a claim, you’re going to need to provide the data to back it up. This will help cultivate trust and credibility for your brand, as well as give clear direction to needy customers who are looking for a product or service like yours and just need confirmation they’re in the right place.

We live in a data-saturated world with more and more people becoming familiar with how vital it is every day. Without data, your social media content creation and content marketing campaigns would be a flop because there would be no way to measure what is and isn’t working and what needs improvement.

People want data because it serves as proof that YES you are who you say you are, (which is why customer reviews are so powerful and of vital importance) and gives them a reason to trust your solution, no matter what that might be for them.

If you don’t have data sources, be clear and concise about why you think your product works and why they need it. If anything, they’ll then know what to expect and what to research. Newer companies that don’t have data to pull from will find this trick especially helpful.

#6 Provide Your Content in Multiple Mediums

Did you know that providing your content in a multitude of different mediums can be beneficial for your brand image and your engagement, but also save you immense amounts of time, money and personal investment?

This is better known as “re-purposing” content. For instance, if you create a podcast and put it on your website, you can share the transcript as a blog. Then, you can upload different snippets of the videos to social media channels, the entirety of the video to YouTube and drum up more business through sponsored podcasts across your social channels.

This is definitely a more entrepreneurial way to look at social media content creation.

IS HIRING A SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT CREATION COMPANY RIGHT FOR YOU? One of the many benefits you’ll find in hiring a social media content creation company is that you won’t have to go further than their staff in most cases to get exactly the expertise you need to pitch your product using creative and re-purposed content across your social channels.

New call-to-action

Modern Marketing Tactics Have Changed The Social Media Content Creation Game

Now it isn’t all about pushing your product or how many leads you can catch in your funnel cold-calling before the end of the day.

Nope! Modern marketing calls for a much deeper, more insightful response from businesses like yours. Your audience expects you to bring them the what, how and why behind your product, but it’s also more than that.

People crave community online. They want to feel as if they’ve belong. Your social media content has to speak to that need through quality, creative content that embraces the whole picture.

There are billions of people all over the world using Facebook. That audience is just waiting at your fingertips! And while you won’t have a product that will speak to all of them, (just being honest here) that’s still a heck of a lot of people who are there waiting, ready to hear your story.

If you want your content creation game to be strong, you have to learn the importance of community first. You have to embrace your audience and meet them where they are with the answers they’re looking for. And you won’t know what they’re looking for or what they need if you’re not first listening and keeping your eyes open.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I Take Advantage of the Benefits of Social Media Content Creation?

This all depends on your business, what you're planning to achieve, how you're going to approach it, etc.

In the end, most business will certainly benefit from social media content creation because if you're not on social, no one is going to see you. And if you are, what are you posting?

High-quality content can make or break your social media strategy, so our suggestion? Go all in.

Does it Matter Who Does My Social Media Content Creation?

The short answer: yes! It matters because the QUALITY of your content, (like we mentioned before) can change the results of your social media efforts.

Low-quality, mass-produced, non-tailored content has a reputation for coming across as spammy and unfeeling.

Social media content creation executed by a social media team has results that speak for themselves: more sales, more conversions, more downloads, more engagement...everything you might imagine that would go along with a quality brand's social media efforts.

Will a Social Media Content Creation Company be Beneficial to My Business?

Again, I don’t have all the answers, and I can’t give you a definitive “yes” or “no” because I don’t know your unique business situation. But chances are, the answer is yes and I’m going to explain exactly why this is the case.

  1. Your business deserves the best. And with a shortage of time, equipment, software, tools and time, you might not always have the ability to create the “best” when it comes to your social content marketing strategy.
  2. You have your hands full with other things. Managing a business or a marketing team is a critical job, and one that takes a lot of time, effort and confidence. A content creation company can take the load off of your shoulders and help you stand out from the crowd with a unique brand voice and appearance with minimal effort on your part.
  3. You’re putting the job in the hands of industry experts. Social content creation companies know the landscape, the crowd and the ins and outs of current and past social media marketing trends. You’ll be able to be confident in the knowledge that your brand’s online image is in good, very capable hands.
  4. Content will be posted frequently and regularly. Gone will be the days when you’re having to bang your head against a wall for ideas or worrying about what you’ll post and when and how. A social content creation company will take that worry and turn it into authentic, creative content that perfectly suits your brand voice and tone.
  5. More organic efforts=more engagement. With a team of social content creation experts at the wheel, you’ll be able to witness the growth of your following, engagement and overall community in real time.
