I’ll admit that it’s fun to bash Klout. I have the belief that, despite what Klout says, it ties a large part of how “influential” you are directly to how much you tweet. That’s my Klout score over the past several weeks. This is the main reason I just can’t take Klout incredibly seriously.

Klout is a site that measures your influence on the web, using social media sites. Essentially, the more influential you are on social media websites, the higher your Klout score is. The score goes from 1 to 100, and I would say that it’s pretty easy to get a Klout score of 30 or higher. Let me explain.

Last week, the special guest on #measurePR was Megan Berry of Klout. Given how vocal I’ve been about how problematic I find many elements of Klout , it was pretty decent of her to be willing to participate. Why should we take Klout seriously? E.g., posting nonsense on Twitter [resulting in] increased activity & score?

Klout bills itself as a social media influence metric, but until now it was largely limited in how it measured influence. Moments is something like the Facebook Timeline, but it takes “your most important content” from all of the networks Klout measures and adds it to your profile. I actually rather like this idea.
