I don’t need to know that you’re at the market, at the gas station, at work or on the train. It is disruptive because it makes it more difficult to see the content I really want to see and comes across as being all about you, without regard for those on the other end of your check-ins. Still, it is your choice.

Of course, you are always welcome to similarly unfollow me if you feel my content is inappropriate or a bad fit for your twitterstream. I’m not talking about RickRolling here; I mean making it seem like there is really great content if you just follow this link, only to have it lead to promotional material or a squeeze page.

Once I started receiving a lot of these, I deleted them from my wall as it made it difficult for someone to find my “real&# content, the stuff I wanted to have on my wall. One prominent Internet Marketer actually sent me an email *on Christmas Day* selling me more of her stuff…UGH…couldn’t delete that one fast enough!
