I have 112 friends on the site and I’m content with that number. I learned a lot about myself and how I want to distinguish my use of the different tools. Facebook is overrated, I realized during the fourth quarter of the year. Instagram , while owned by Facebook, is photography-focused. Ditto me on their photos.

After 20 minutes of scratching my head and several automated email messages telling me I was unsuccessfully claiming my blog with Technorati (one of the larger blog registries out there), I learned the secret.

And most blogs that do well have a single theme and the audience can depend on the theme dictating the content of the blog. It seemed smart: more content means more traffic, and more traffic is good. If you can’t convey new ideas on your blog, then you probably won’t get a lot of traffic.
