Not long ago, Facebook removed the ability to hide one’s friends, explaining that allowing users to keep this information private presented an obstacle to the overriding benefit of public sharing – to help users discover friends and news they otherwise might not have seen. The SXSW Twitter feed helped many communicate with each other and even allowed for individuals to meet for the first time. Twitter as a feed reader (for more important feeds). Once I started receiving a lot of these, I deleted them from my wall as it made it difficult for someone to find my “real&# content, the stuff I wanted to have on my wall.
