And judging by the SEOMOz toolbar’s ‘NoFollow’ indicator, the Facebook comments are followed links back to Facebook everytime. Look at the difference between similar sites in terms of technology e.g. Digg vs Reddit vs Hacker News, for example. Not reward Facebook for doing nothing.

Along with Twitter , Digg , Reddit , and other social media websites , Google’s blog search can even bring in some great traffic to your blog. I prefer to add it to Mixx because mixx.com is one of the few social bookmarking websites that do not use the “nofollow&# tag. Probably not, it’s a form of duplicate content.

7 months of producing the best content I could, utilising Twitter, commenting on other blogs and everything else you can think of hadn’t produced results. If you aren’t going to get some random growth spurt from a big blogger or an article hitting the Digg homepage, carve out the results for yourself. Then reality hit.

If a user is being subscribed to (which means people can see what they stumble) then there’s a good chance they find good content and may find great information relevant to a particular topic. I suspect that stumbling generic content that a lot of people love is more effective than focusing on a specific niche.

This not only gives people a sign of what is to come but allows you to deal with marketing your new site with a break for a week or two from writing content.

That’s probably because he has hundreds of them, and all of his content is automated. Most subscribers simply don’t read the majority of their content. Links from other sites to your site are basically a ‘vote’ that tell search engines you are trusted and you are a good resource for whatever your content is about. Digg lets you find news that you know hundreds of other people recommend. “Awesome&# content means a lot of different things to different people.
