But what’s striking about this example is how the conference organizer did such a poor job of reaching out to the bloggers. What strikes me about the specifics here is that the conference organizer was just too heavy handed in their approach. What Would Work. I do think that every conference organizer should be reaching out to bloggers to make them an active part of the conference both from a marketing standpoint and from a thought leadership standpoint. I was a massive proponent of the unconference movement (I still am!), but that word has been used so poorly by so many groups that it seems to have all but disappeared.
