A few weeks ago I stumbled across another gem, Lanyrd and it’s officially my go to site for all things conferences. Lanyrd uses your Twitter account to effectively crowdsource conference information and it’s working. I’m always a fan of great UI and simplicity in execution, and Lanyrd nails both.

One of my favorite parts of my job over the past year or so is having had the opportunity to participate in speaking engagements at conferences and local business chapters. In addition to helping me add credibility to what I do, I’ve been able to connect with people offline, and create additional opportunities for myself and my firm.

Having just returned from SES Chicago (a search and social conference), I had another overall good experience. The reality is, I don’t attend conferences much anymore unless I’m doing one or a variety of one these activities. I had the honor of getting to moderate one panel, speak on another, and participate in a Webmaster.fm

In addition to the conference I was honored to be asked to be on a local television program called WebNation hosted by Amber Mac. The first one in NY did well, so I was invited back for another go around. It’s always great to get another shot at presenting something so you can tweak and improve.
