Such a strong community of users and developers means that the platform is sure to evolve even further and provide us with lots of cool features that are yet to be developed. My favorite thing about the WordPress blogging platform is that outside of the backend system, no two blogs operate the same way. Livefyre also has a great community team who evangelizes the platform and assists with user questions with lightning speed. It also asks folks if they would like to subscribe to your RSS feed.

The default choice for a great Blogging platform is WordPress. My recommendation is to go with it (full disclosure: this Blog is powered by MovableType and it's way too late in the game to make the switch to WordPress, but I would if it could happen seamlessly). It was klunky, and seemed very limited compared to my self-hosted Wordpress install I had been on for years. Just last year, I was running this blog on a self-hosted Wordpress instance, the same server I was running SocialToo.com.
