On their computers, I see Gmail, Facebook, Tweetdeck, Skype, Flickr and a host of other apps and widgets. Few in the audience appear to be paying attention to the speakers, though I imagine some are. (On I only spot two people actually sleeping. I guess we all multi-task in our own way.)

I learned today about TweetDeck & find it easier to understand what’s going on. When ppl engage in a trail like #happy09 does that annoy people that are not aware or participating & are following you? What’s a tweetwall? Where do we find it. Without that I wouldn’t have had a real understanding of #happy09.

Sure, you can centralize some of your social media chores (great post by Chris Brogan), by using Tweetdeck or Seesmic. I haven't used it, but looks interesting [link] [link] Meylah Community Anyone use NutshellMail? Sound familiar? But that only helps if you’re online and “in the flow.&# If yes, what do you think?

Twitter Tweetdeck I use Tweetdeck for serious twitter sessions. It doesn’t have the advanced functionality of Tweetdeck (such as cross-posting to Facebook), but it’s so easy-to-use that it’s my favorite Twitter app. Katie Morse Community Manager @misskatiemo [link] [link] Katie Morse Jason – great post!

With Twitter being so incredibly large and vast, there are different types of mini-communities. HootSuite puts all the accounts in one single interface (you can do the same with TweetDeck and Seesmic, I believe), but in terms of passwords, I usually use KeePass to store them with other relevant account information.

Updating Facebook from third parties like Tweetdeck? Twitter success requires an understanding of the unique rhythms and cadences of the community, and a give first, get later mentality that is a bit counterintuitive at first. Tagging people with @ within status updates? Posting to Twitter directly from Facebook? What’s Happening?
