Kiddie iPads, Headshot Fails and personal branding

What a week… starting off with some travel-lag from seeing  the family in Jersey and some cool weather and ending off with some pretty hot and sticky temperatures. I also had the opportunity to chat social with some local nonprofits before closing out on a few stressful days. How was your week? Any big plans for the weekend? For the Espo clan it’s some furniture delivery and house situating. So without further ranting, here’s this week’s edition of Five for Friday.

Little Tikes creates iTikes iPad toy range – so looks like toy companies have jumped on the hook ‘em young bandwagon set by the big tobacco companies. Kind of cool, but kind of scary at the same time.

19 Reasons Your LinkedIn Headshot May Be an Epic Fail – check out this list and silently nod if your profile picture on LinkedIn or any other social network falls into these categories. If it does, please go change now before continuing to read.

Q&A: Ford’s Scott Monty Has Big Ideas About Data – for all you dataheads out there, this Q&A sheds some light on how Ford looks at data and where it is going.

So I am supposed to be writing a post on personal branding – This post from Erika Napoletano is possibly the best thing I read all week. Not only is it filled with great content, but I dare you not to laugh in the intro. Double dog dare you even 🙂

Dear Community Managers, don’t be hard on yourself, it’s your company culture that’s not ready to be “social” – are you a stressed out community manager? Are you ready to bang your head thorugh your desk? If so, read this article and crack a beer – it is Friday after all.

I love Little Tikes – I swear, I should ban their emails, every time I get one I want to buy something! They’re as bad for me as VistaPrint is for my wife!! ;-)Thanks for the JugnooMe shout, mate, appreciated – yes indeed, that post by Erika Napoletano is outstanding. But then, that’s no surprise.
