As more and more marketing professionals look for ways to measure and manipulate influence online, Klout is emerging as a force too big to be ignored. Klout’s algorithm strives to measure a user’s online influence. Potential Influence. Personally, I prefer to think of Klout as potential social media influence.

Who influenced you the most growing up, and who is your internet influence today? My parents are my biggest influence. So, yep… Mom and Dad have been a primary influence on who I turned out to be, for sure. They set the example for me and my brother for just about everything.

Danny Brown presents a solid argument that Klout , a social influence website, should never have created a profile for my friend Naomi without Naomi authorizing its creation. Are the rules for opting in and opting out different for individuals than for communities and organizations? Klout is not alone in this backward thinking.

July 17, 2014 was the day when I scrolled through the people I was following on Twitter and realized they were a mix of political people, cultural people, social builders , influencers , tomorrow’s leaders , and others. I’m not an office worker drone kind of guy and I want to do something in media and community relations.
