The easiest thing to do is to setup your keywords to be delivered via RSS to the feed reader of your choice (google reader, bloglines, etc). Following in the hopes they will follow you back and buy your stuff is not a good strategy. Then the best thing to do is read the tweet and see if it even warrants you talking to them.

Feed readers are used to read your content. People use search engines, feed readers, and social media because they provide functionality missing from most websites. Chat forums aren’t for every site, but when done right they’re great ways to build community and facilitate conversation. Chat forum.

You can see how many people are subscribing to your RSS feed and from which sources, and if you use the new Google Analytics integration, you can see how many clicks each individual post is getting from feed readers. This is a community site where the content with the most votes gets pushed to the homepage.

This is occurring in part due to the increasing use of RSS feed readers which allow readers to view content from a platform that doesn’t permit the display of comments.
