I don’t know about you but I’ve gotten more than a dozen invitations to Google+ communities in the last couple of days. In case you’re not aware of what that means, Google+ launched a new feature, Google+ Communities on Dec 6. Better Visibility Than Facebook Pages. What’s not to love?

I had a very interesting conversation with a Facebook application developer today. If it’s not yours, or if it is, please– for the love of community –pitch in and SAY something! We were talking about how to build community on a Facebook page and whether or not that’s really even possible. Brand building.

You could lose your community. Hmm, well if your community is that easy to distract maybe you need to work on that a little more. Google won’t love you any more. Be part of their community. Give the community more focused posts relevant to the site content. Really it boils down to three things.

The popularity of Instagram is clear, and if you are inclined to snap photos and share them with your friends and customers on social networks you can make your business more social and build a powerful sharing community on Instagram quickly. Users were asked to post images on Facebook and Instagram and tag them #CaptureaJag.

Takeaways from the discussion were many, and largely about developing a professional brand, creating real networks of people who are interested in the same topics, staying in good standing in the community and supportive of others in their extended networks. This is where more casual relationships are maintained. Personal friends and family.

Both apps allow some engagement with your Twitter following, and Meerkat also gives the option to connect to your Facebook account. Instead, check out this Google Doc via Ileane Smith. This platform builds community super quickly. resolves a lot of these issues. On the right of the page is a live chat stream with the viewers.
