Rather than just respond via email or in a comment, I find it helpful to others to turn the response into a blog post. There’s a lot of humor on Twitter, but it’s hard to sift through.

Sure, that additional 140 plus their standard 140 does give them 280 characters, but this does not mean Twitter is increasing the character limit to 280 for anyone but their preferred partners. Unless you have a boatload of cash to spend on advertising with Twitter, you are still limited to 140 characters. It’s important.
