And Technorati is showing 4,973 posts related to the Colts and 6,178 for the Saints. As of today the Colts’ official Facebook page has 249,481 fans and their wall posts are getting a good amount of “likes” and comments. For “New Orleans Saints” it’s 726,855 total and 31,215 in the past week.

I tend to use a combination of Technorati alerts on my name and blog name sent directly to a special folder in my Google RSS reader. Plus I also use Tweetscan for twitter mentions and Samepoint for comment mentions all sent directly to a personal brand folder in my Google RSS Reader. Like any brand you want to be known for something.

If you’re the frugal type, take advantage of the free alerts from Google, YackTrack , Social Mention , BackType (which gives you alerts from blog/article comments , which other services do not include), and Trackur. It may not be obvious from the UI, but YackTrack does support email notification on blog comments.
