There are a number of great networks specifically built for bloggers for the purpose of bookmarking, forums, groups, and networks. Some that I am particularly fond of are Blog Engage (blogger’s social bookmarking site), Blogger Den (the alternative to Digg for bloggers), and BloggerLuv. Guest Blogging. Forum Signatures.

If you want to go one step further, think of the possibilities of this: Does Google give extra weight to links that are being shared on social networking websites? Hmmmm… Even if those links are ‘nofollow’ links? Or even add it to a few of your favorite social bookmarking websites. Interesting concept.

And blog commenting is still one of the easiest ways to get backlinks. . Mistake #1: Commentators seek out dofollow blogs only.

Avoid posting links on random or affiliated websites rather nofollow the link or remove them. Some of the other common sources of spammy links are Forum Profiles, Blog comments, Social bookmarks and paid links. Commenting on some random blog post or forum just to create links is not an advisable practice.
