Why Should You Comment On A Blog Post?

I was reading an article today titled, Behind the Wheels: An all-too-real Cinderella story it had 12 comments. Which got me to wondering: How come useless throw away blog posts and articles have tons and tons of comments and the good stuff gets next to nothing? People are suckers for lists. Why should you comment?

Check out these quotes from the post: There was no validation that what I did was comment-worthy, no “cute” notations on Yelps, no retweets of my witty Twitter updates. A high number of blog comments= validates the topic. Snarky comment on Twitter=need for validation. Social media validates my feelings and actions.
