In looking through the site though one thing stands out – nearly every item has no comments or reactions: That seems odd, but it’s not just a holiday season slowdown. URLs in Muck Rack releases. reports from its search page are not very complete or accurate (you get better data on URLs you’ve personally shortened in your history when signed into bit.ly). The Yahoo attribution links do not point directly to the original article URLs. Instead they point to an internal Yahoo News URL which then has a temporary 302 redirect to the original article. So it is important to have a requirement for direct links to your original URLs put into the syndication contract.

I scan 275 RSS feeds in Google Reader and I use dozens of bookmarklets and shortcuts to help me manage it all. Note that the Google Toolbar automatically inserts the source URL. I also make heavy use of the integrated Google Talk IM client in Gmail. or Google Reader shared feed through Yahoo Alerts.

Previously the only way to get the more comprehensive version into Google News was to republish the article on a new URL, which was not the best experience for either on-site or search engine users. I went looking for an updated story in Google News today and was able to find an example.

For your blog, any URL will do, and if you are writing for a blog with multiple authors, FriendFeed parses through the authors and only features blog posts written by you.
