Over the past few years, I ave tried dozens of plugins to accomplish goals for the site. LiveFyre – There are a lot of comment systems out there, but none are on par with Livefyre. It has also increased the time spent on the site. For example if you visit my site five times from the same platform, you will not see the box.

The removal of the friends commenting on/liking posts from brands was obtrusive, albeit a great way to poke humor at friends who comment on political/racy content (not that I have done that at all). It is also a worthwhile follow given the security breaches that come out via social networking sites.

Of all the social media platforms and/or networking sites that have enjoyed some semblance of longevity, LinkedIn is probably the most misunderstood and the most underutilized. But LinkedIn has come a long way since its early days as a pseudo “hiring site.” Image: Wikipedia. The latest version of LinkedIn is – dare I say it – social.

It’s a pretty graphic that calls out some of the ugliness that lies behind the social nature of these sites. We should never take stalking lightly, even if we make it easier for folks to do it with geo-location sites like foursquare, SCVNGR and Facebook places. LiveFyre – I blame Danny Brown for putting me onto this comment system.

With none on the TGW site, I followed the social media breadcrumbs and stumbled into a pile of poop that would make any PR person cringe. On TGW’s Facebook page there were comments ranging from inquisitive to vulgar. Their system digests it then displays the products on their site. 13 Comments - Leave a comment!
